He began his career in Los Gatos, California at General Telephone (GTE). Bob was promoted through the years and moved with the family from California, to Everett, Washington, Marion, Ohio, and finally to Tampa, Florida. He retired in 1987 as Chief Financial Officer/Controller for the Florida region.
Over the next 30 years, Bob and Jane traveled both around the country, and overseas. They enjoyed annual trips in their camper travelling around the United States and Canada visiting family and friends. In addition, they enjoyed several trips to Europe with friends.
Bob was a dedicated husband and family man with a tremendous sense of humor and love of the outdoors. Bob enjoyed being on the water, boating and fishing, every where they lived. The family vacations were often on the water or camping around the country. In recent years, there have been many family reunions to bring the family together and celebrate Bob and Jane and all they have done for their children and extended family.
Bob was a dedicated to giving back and was involved in many charitable and civic organizations throughout his lifetime. Some organizations included the Boy Scouts, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus, Habitat for Humanity, Daystar, and many others. He had a very strong faith in God and he lived his life accordingly.
Bob often enjoyed the Friday night fights, watching football, attending baseball games, and fishing but most of all he loved spending time with his wife. His eyes would light up at seeing her and the love between them was magical to see.
Although he was 90 at the time of his passing, Bob was still young in many ways. His honesty and integrity, his wit, and unwavering commitment to family and friends will be sorely missed by everyone.
