Rosemary G. Early, 78, of St. Petersburg passed away on June 17, 2018. Rosemary was born January 17, 1940 in Syracuse, NY. She earned her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oswego and master’s degree from USF, both in Education. While in Florida, Rosemary worked as a special needs teacher at Woodlawn and Azalea Elementary Schools. She retired from the Pinellas County School District with over 20 years of service. She was a parishioner at St. Raphael Catholic Church since 1970 where she was very active. While her children attended the school, she was member of the booster club and the school board. After retirement, Rosemary was a member, Vice President and President of the St. Raphael CCW Guild. She was also a substitute teacher for the school, a Minister of Holy Communion and a faithful participant in the Wednesday morning Bible Study group. In 2013, Rosemary received the St. Jude Medal from the Bishop and she was named the 2015 Handmaiden of the Lord by the St. Raphael CCW. Rosemary will always be remembered for being the best hostess especially during the famous St. Patrick’s Day parties. Rosemary was predeceased by her husband, Richard E. Early; parents Walter Gaughan and Margaret Gaughan; sister, Marcia Gaughan. She is survived by two sons Richard J. Early (Kim) and Mark T. Early (Heather); a daughter, Melissa M. Kraus (Stephen); a sister, Linda Gaughan; a brother, Tom Gaughan (Nancy); and 8 grandchildren, Alexandra, Rachel, Elizabeth, Andrew, Daniel, Sarah, Jason and Kaitlyn; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 27th, 2018 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, 1376 Snell Isle Blvd NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33704. Calling hours will begin at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Rosemary’s memory to St. Raphael’s Catholic Church CCW.
