Charles L. McKenna Jr., 90, or Largo, Fla., passed away on March 14, 2018. A native of Providence, R.I. Mr. McKenna was a World War II veteran who proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, Coast Guard, and Naval Reserves. He was recently honored by the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team as part of their community heroes program and was a participant in an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. last November. Mr. McKenna spent 20 years as a firefighter in Providence, R.I. before relocating to Florida in 1978. An avid golfer, he also recorded a confirmed hole-in-one ten times during his lifetime. Mr. McKenna is now reunited by the love of his life, wife Pauline [Whitman] McKenna, who passed away in 1994. He is survived by five children, Kathleen Cruz-Guzman, Maureen McKenna, Colleen Ingalls, Christine Graham, and Kevin McKenna, seven grandchildren, James Houghtaling, Kristen Houghtaling, Shannon Marshall, Christopher Ingalls, Stephanie Graham, Scott Graham, and Natalie Graham, and four great-grandchildren, Rhys Hoglen, Emaleigh Graham, Ethan Graham and Kamden Marshall.
