Ida M. Cascarelle “MaMa Ida” went home to the Lord on Monday, December 18 at the age of 88 years. Ida was born in Birch Run, Michigan to Ralph LeVac and Doris (Tiff) LeVac on October 30, 1929. She married James (Jim) Cascarelle August 29, 1948 and lived in Clio, Michigan until moving to Redington Shores, Florida in 1977. Jim and Ida were married 63 years.
Ida was all about making meaningful relationships. Her first love was the Lord and she spent a lifetime sharing Christ with others. She was entirely devoted to her husband, family, and the many friends she made on her journey. Ida enjoyed her nursing career; she spent years taking care of others and guarding their hearts with the love of the Lord. She would offer a listening ear when it was needed; she would share wisdom that encouraged those in her circle of care to never quit. She always managed to portray and promote a spirit of Hope because of her dependance on the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Cascarelle, grandson, Ryan Cascarelle, and granddaughter, Lisa Cascarelle, as well as two brothers, Jack (Barbara) LeVac and Al (Tunney) LeVac. Ida is survived by her son, James A. Cascarelle (Ann), son, John Cascarelle (Jenny), and daughter, Mary Haley (John). She loved her role as grandma and poured love into seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Ida on December 31st @ 11AM at Connect2Christ Church—9398 Oakhurst Road in Seminole FL. We will be celebrating the legacy of love left by this amazing daughter of the Most High. Donations in lieu of flowers in Ida’s honor may be made to Connect2Christ Church where she shared in ministry with her daughter.
