Visitation at 10AM and Funeral Mass at 11AM at St Jude's Cathedral on June 7th, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Albert Hutchens and Muriel Ann Sinon as well as his beloved brother Neil Clinton Hutchens. John is survived by his two loving sons Cole Andrew Hutchens and Drew Albert Hutchens, along with his former wife Susan Lee Hutchens. His surviving family includes brother Greg Hutchens (wife Sammie), sister Suzie Provencher (husband John) and cherished nieces and nephews who will never forget how he touched their lives.
With John's passing he leaves behind many treasured friends including the other members of the Fearsome Foursome: Kyle Calkins, Chris Powell, and Mark Litton. Theirs was a lifelong friendship that was forged in their youth and carried into adulthood. Hutch will be remembered for his great love for his two sons, baseball, history, poker on Thursdays, backgammon on Sundays with Joel Powell, chess with Frank O'Neil, going out to eat, and his car, "Musty."
John dedicated 25 years of his life to coaching baseball through the high school level while also volunteering his time umpiring. He touched many lives, more than he will ever know and will be greatly missed. "Hutch" was a kind man and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as sharing sunsets and stories. John cannot be replaced and will forever be in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted by son Drew Hutchens for a Baseball Memorial in honor of his father at Azalea Little League.
