Obituary

APPLE, Gale J. (Jack), 92 passed away April 20, 2017. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on November 25, 1924. His parents Lance and Anna, his sister Marjorie Phillips and his first wife Hilda Mary predeceased him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years Norma, his sister Lorraine Stensgaard of Los Angeles and brother Norman of Phoenix, children Phillip and (Alexa) Apple, Paul and (Lisa) Apple, Douglas and (Maureen) Apple, David and (Laurie) Apple, Robert and (Lisa) Apple, Paul and (Sonia) Johannesson, Karen and (William) Sundblom, Wayne Johannesson, Danny and (Joanne) Johannesson, and Gary Johannesson. Also 24 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Jack came to St. Petersburg in 1946 after serving in the Navy during World War II. He entered the construction industry and soon founded Apple Homes. He became known as "The Waterfront Home Builder".

Jack continued to work in the building business well into 2017. Known as Jack to his friends and family, he leaves a legacy in St. Petersburg that will continue for generations to come.

A Funeral Mass will be held at The Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 1:00PM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Suncoast Hospice or the charity of your choice.
