Marcie M. Bagwell (Hovanec), 69, of Tampa, left this world on Wednesday March 14th. Marcie led a life filled with unconditional love and acceptance, she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was born on November 23rd, 1948, the first of seven children born to Melody and John Hovanec, and graduated from East High School, in Youngstown, Ohio. She continued her education as an adult, earning an Associates Degree from Penn State University’s Shenango Valley Campus in Sharon, Pennsylvania. She was twice married; first to the late Lawrence Greene of Sharon, Pennsylvania with whom she raised three children, then to Timothy Bagwell of West Columbia, Texas.
Marcie’s happiest moments in life were spent in the company of her nine grandchildren whom she adored and who affectionately knew her as “Mimi. She was passionate about music and the arts; she taught ballet at the Southwest Gardens community center in Farrell, Pennsylvania during the 1980’s, and had even written and performed an original song in recent months. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Marcie is survived by her sisters Kathy Centofanti and Tracy Hilton, her Brother Daniel Hovanec, and two half-sisters, Christina Hovanec and Kim Best.
A memorial service will take place at 1:30pm on Friday, April 6th at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 5233 118th Ave N. in Clearwater, Florida. The memorial service will be followed by a celebration of her life at Love’s Artifacts Bar and Grille, 4918 S. MacDill Ave, Tampa, Florida from 5:30-7:30pm. Cards and flowers may be sent directly to Calvary Catholic in her name.
