Kenneth Carlisle Letzring went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2018. A fourth-generation Florida native and lifelong St. Petersburg resident, he was born at Mound Park Hospital on December 2, 1938 to Ralph Carlisle Letzring and Mary Lillian (Helveston) Letzring. Ken was a 1956 graduate of St. Petersburg High School, where he played football, basketball, ran track & field, and was active in many clubs. He graduated from what was then St. Petersburg Junior College where he was active in student government and played basketball. He became a journeyman electrician who proudly worked on many projects in Pinellas County and throughout Florida, including famous landmarks such as Walt Disney World and Epcot. He was a member of IBEW Local 915. Ken had a passion for collectibles-especially antique cars and antique auto tags-and was a member of the St. Petersburg Model-A Club. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid turkey hunter. Ken was a lifelong, active member of First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg, serving in many capacities. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Donna Jean Laney Letzring; daughter, Laurie Letzring Jennings, (Patrick); son, Todd Kenneth Letzring (Lori); dear family member, H. Roy Adams (Paula); and treasured grandchildren: Tyler Adams, Alex Jennings, Jacob, Nathan, Hannah and Joseph Letzring; siblings: Barbara Whitehead, Don Letzring, and Susan Jones. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 15at 3:00pm at First Baptist Church, St. Petersburg, FL 1900 Gandy Blvd. with, visitation at 2:15pm. It was Ken's wish, that in lieu of flowers donations be made to First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg or the charity of your choice.
