Keithlyn (Penny) Hyde Petrillo, age 77, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 surrounded by her family in Saint Petersburg, FL. She was born on July 28, 1939 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to the late Dr. Raymond and Madglyn Hyde.

On May 30, 1962, she married Roy Ronald Petrillo in Boca Raton, Florida. Together, they had three sons. She helped her husband, Ron, run their family hardware business and later ran her own clothing boutiques. Her special interests and hobbies included raising a family, creating ceramics (she would often hold classes in her home for others to enjoy), and being close with God through prayer. Some of her favorite things in life were cherishing moments with her grandchildren, playing gin rummy with friends, and spending holidays with her family.

Keithlyn truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Keithlyn was a strong-willed person with tremendous courage who had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep, positive way and give them strength when they faced trying times. She made a difference…

She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Ron; her sons and their spouses, Tom and Karen of Saint Petersburg, Jim and Michelle of Saint Petersburg, and Tim and Susie of Ft. Lauderdale, and her 11 grandchildren.

The Visitation will be held Monday, May 8 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Brett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 9:30 am at the Chapel at St. Jude's Cathedral, Saint Petersburg, FL. Burial service immediately following at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Special thank you to Dr. Arias and her nurses Ariana, Kelly, and Ava, who's loving care through the years meant so much to her and our family.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation ( are appreciated.
