Joan Fellows Krueger, 90, of St. Petersburg passed away on April 7th, 2018. Born on April 27, 1927 in Waukegan, Illinois, she was the only child of Herbert and Cora Fellows. She graduated from St. Mary of the Woods College in 1948 with a degree in voice and music. In Illinois, she met and married Dr. George E. Krueger, and together they raised 8 children. Joan was very involved in the community. She served as president of the Junior League and was active with the local, state and national dental auxiliaries.
In 1972, Joan and George decided to move the family to Florida. There they continued their passion for giving and community service. As devout Catholics, they became very active members at St. Jude Cathedral Catholic Church where they served as lectures, Eucharistic ministers and taught a bible study class for 20 years. Often, they would host Diocesan priests and the Bishop for dinner at their home. They provided 12 years of Catholic education for all 8 children and all of them went on to receive advanced college degrees. Joan and George also loved to travel. As their children grew older, they journeyed to countries near and far. They especially enjoyed visiting the holy lands and biblical sites, where they would collect material and photos to share with their bible study class.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Dr. George E. Krueger and her son, George E. Krueger II.
