DUPES, F. West, of Town Shores of Gulfport, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 27, 2018, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Annabell, his brother, Jon Edward, his children, Deborah, Alan (Krista), and Gregory (Jaime), his grandchildren, Laci (Jorge), Jenny, West, Evalyne and Eloise, and his great grandchildren Aliyah and Isaac.
West was a very active member of the Gulfport community and surrounding communities. Most recently he owned and operated the Town Talk newspaper and the Quarter Deck newspaper. He previously owned Gulfport Travel and Insurance Concepts. West was one of the founding members of the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce and was awarded the Key to the City of Gulfport in 2016 for his leadership and service.
Throughout his lifetime he was a fellow Mason, Big Brother’s volunteer, Sunday School teacher, soccer coach, and swam on the City of St. Petersburg Master’s swim team. He loved to laugh and bring joy and worked with the Clown Alley clown club as “Mr. Crumbs”. He would help anyone in need and was known for his generosity. He will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure to meet him.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, October 5, 2018 at 5pm at Brett Funeral Home, 4810 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg with a reception to follow at Town Shores Club House.
