Dorothy Larsen Kirkwood died peacefully in St. Petersburg on October 8, 2018. She was born in Chicago in 1932 and moved to St. Petersburg in 1964. Dorothy lived a long and extraordinary family centered life. Most notably, she might have been the world’s greatest grandmother. To that end, she is survived by her eleven grandchildren; Elizabeth Kirkwood Ceislak (Rafal), Amy Krystyn Kirkwood, Jenna Kirkwood Morales (Bryan), Allison Kirkwood Simpson (Troy), Emily Kirkwood Nolan (Zach), Sarah Kirkwood Reiss (Crutcher), Nicholas Harold Leitner (Sarah), Katie Leitner Fernandez (Bruno), Peter Michael Kirkwood, James Henry Kirkwood, Wendy Colleen Kirkwood and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her four children; Daniel Raymond Kirkwood (Carole), Peter Thomas Kirkwood (Karla), Michael Waring Kirkwood (Mary), and Susan Kirkwood Leitner (Robert). Dorothy, was predeceased by her husband; Donald Waring Kirkwood, her parents; Ann and Hjalmar Larsen, brothers, Raymond Larsen (and beloved Dorothy), Donal Larsen (Norma).There will be a private family service.
