Catherine (Kay) Dunham, 95, of St. Petersburg passed away on September 1, 2011. She was born, raised and married to Dr. Charles T. Dunham in Racine, WI. The couple moved with their five children to Florida in 1955. Dr. Dunham practiced medicine in Madeira Beach, FL, until his death in 1968. Kay was a member of the Cathedral of St. Jude Catholic Church. She worked for the Pinellas County Tax Office for almost twenty years. She was an avid bowler, bridge player and passionately followed all types of sports, especially her beloved Gators During World War II Kay was a Red Cross volunteer. Kay also volunteered for many years at St. Anthony's Hospital Gift Shop and the former Maggie's Closet.
Kay is survived by: her daughter, Constance McCormick of Redington Shores and four sons—Lon Dunham and his wife Joan St. Petersburg, Gary Dunham, San Francisco, CA, Charles Dunham Jr., Seminole, John Dunham and his wife Cindy Judd, St. Petersburg. In addition, Kay is also survived by one brother, Joseph Ondercin, Racine, WI; two sisters-in-law, Mary Smith, St. Petersburg, and Ruth Foley, Racine, WI; two brothers-in-law, Chales Holck, Aiken, SC and Richard Roberts, Racine, WI; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grand-children.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in the Cathedral of St. Jude's Chapel on Saturday, September 10 at 12:00 Noon followed by a reception celebrating Kay's life at the Garden Club of St. Petersburg, 500 Sunset Drive South. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kay's memory to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
